Amplify Shader not working with Mac OS 10.14 Mojave

Postby pdrummond » Tue Sep 25, 2018 7:31 am

Unfortunately I can't use Amplify Shader after upgrading to Mac OS 10.14 Mojave. When I open the shader editor window Unity freezes and my Mac becomes unresponsive. I then have to force restart.

I'm using the latest release of Unity 2018.2.9f1.

Hello, does this issue happen when using the latest ASE version on a new project?

Just to make sure that the issue is not project related, can you also confirm if the issue still presents itself if you create a new project and only import the latest ASE version?

I've created a new project and everything is fine until I try to edit my man shader. The same file was working in Mac OS 10.13, and I can edit a material which uses this shader, but as soon as I try to edit it the whole system freezes up. The only way to recover is a force restart by holding down the power button.

The shader editor window seems to be having trouble if there are more than a few nodes. It flickers as if having problems re-drawing then eventually freezes the whole system.

Thank you for taking the time to run some additional tests and provide further details.

Unfortunately I've had to work on something else for a while. I'll do some more testing as soon as I can.

Thanks.
