Hello,

We did a few additional tests but, unfortunately, we were not able to replicate it. Can you share the cookie texture and a screenshot of the problem, and one without? It might clue us in to what's causing the issue.

Thanks!

ShadingBug.unitypackage
(37.42 KiB) Downloaded 710 times
I've been able to reproduce the issue in a clean scene. Uploading the package. It should work in a clean project or possibly in any project.

Another requirement that I've found is Forward rendering path.

So, the bug:
Objects stop receiving the shadows.

Conditions:
- Using normal nodes anywhere in albedo, specular, roughness, normal, emission or other channels.
- Light cookie (Confirmed to be the case with any cookie, at least on directional lights.)
- Forward rendering path.

Thank you.

Hello,

Thank you for the additional information, we really appreciate it. It seems that saving the shader using the latest ASE version corrects it, the shadows appear immediately. We would love to investigate the problem but we need some extra details in order to proceed.

-Unity version used
-Amplify Shader Editor version (Window > Amplify Shader Editor > About)

You can download the latest version directly from our website using your Unity Asset Store invoice number

Product Download

Looking forward to your feedback.

My Unity version is 5.6.1f1 (the latest stable)
ASE 0.7.0dev03

I no longer have the email from Unity if that's the only place I could find the Unity Invoice Number.

Is the new version submitted for the Asset Store? I can wait it's not a problem.

Hello,

No problem, I believe that you can check the invoice number by clicking on your name on the top right corner of asset store window, than my account, than transactions.

The new version will be submitted soon, we will keep you posted.

Thanks!
