Hi guys,
I am wondering if it is possible to get this effect/feature done in a forward pipeline with amplify shader editor.

(I could be wrong about this but) I think that insomniac games did it in a forward pipeline. I understand that unity already gives this functionality with HDRP, but I am working in VR and we can't really use the HDRP or the differed decals example available online.
thank you.

Hello, the shared trim technique seems to depend on the asset pipeline rather than on the shader itself, so it should be possible to use it together with ASE, although it depends on how you wish to implement it. However, if you're planning on setting up a decal system, that's a whole different endeavor.
If you could elaborate and provide additional details regarding the specific effect you're looking to create and how you're planning on setting it up, we might be able to provide proper insight.
