SSAO asset advice. Amplify Occlusion for VR?

A couple of SSAO assets are on sale at the moment. Amplify Occlusion (https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com/en/#!/content/56739) definitely has plenty of pedigree and good recommendations but only the Volumetric Ambient Occlusion asset (https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com/en/#!/content/67927) appears to be VR ready (i.e. supports Single Pass Stereo Rendering)

I'm not predominantly intending to use it for VR but it's definitely a big consideration for me. Does anyone have any recommendations or experience of either?

or should I just ignore the sale, bite the bullet and buy HBAO (https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com/en/#!/content/54780)?

This is a great opportunity for purchasing AO at a discounted price, supporting VR in AO is one of our top priorities and we're actually working on a new implementation that is much more suitable for VR applications and will provide a more flexible and performant occlusion solution, which should be coming in the near future!

We also offer fully functional trial versions for most of our products, including the current AO implementation, and encourage all potential users to try them out before committing to a purchase.
