BTW is it possible to expose this value to the material properties? I have a complex shader for a tree, split into two materials (trunk and foliage) but I want my foliage to have transparent blend while my trunk will remain opaque.
I've heard about "ase_all_modules" but I have no clue how to use it. Ideally I would like to do like the HDRenderLit does, a dropdown with options.

Unfortunately, I'm afraid that it won't be possible to expose or change the Render Type / Queue through the material, using separate shaders is the ideal way to handle this type of variation.

If you meant the Blend RGB, you can set it to custom and click the circle besides the drop-list in order to allow for setting a custom value. Adding a property here it will have it exposed in the material inspector.
