Bad motion blur on moving skinned mesh + moving camera

Hi there,
I've setup my scene properly using the trial version, but since I've upgraded to the full versio (unity 5), the scene is showing some inconsistency. I have a moving camera tracking a skinned mesh, and I have lots of motion blur in this object. Here are the screenshots from the trial version (both RGB and the debug) and the full version:

What have changed in the full version?
Thanks

Hi Coluna,

We changed the debug display from 1.3 to 1.5, so you probably had the 1.3 trial and upgraded straight to 1.5. That, at least, explains the difference in debug mode. Are you running the latest Amplify Motion version? (1.5.0)

I think you forgot to attach the bad version of RGB. Can you show me? Can you also show your Amplify Motion Effect settings? I suspect the problem could be caused by some configuration or maybe an unexpected result on a bug we fixed that might have changed in the behaviour.

I'm sure we'll be able to help you. Are you running Unity 4 or 5? Windows or OSX?

Cheers

I'm using Unity 5.1.1f1, on Windows. The plugin version is 1.5, just downloaded it. I've installed the unity5 package that comes in the zip file.

Sorry, I forgot to ask:

- Is the skinned mesh being excluded from Amplify Motion's Culling Mask in order to have no motion blur?

I can't seem to be able to replicate the issue. I've set up a few scenes very similar but can't seem to get the problem to show up.

Sorry for asking this but is there any chance you can provide a stripped version of that scene for testing? If so, please send it over to [email protected]

We're available to sign an NDA, if required.

Hi,

We finally identified a problem that might be related to this issue.

Here's a new trial development build in case you're still interested in the product. I've underlined the specific change that may fix the bug you reported.

    Amplify Motion v1.6.0 dev 001

  • Added support for "Optimize Game Objects" via BakeMesh fallback
  • Fixed skinned mesh not taking base game object motion into account
  • Fixed intermittent solid meshes when attached to kinematic rigidbodies; e.g. characters
  • Fixed Windows Phone 8/8.1
  • Fixed Windows Store App 8/8.1 support

    Download Trial Here

Thank you for your patience.

I can't test it right now, but I will asap. Is there a full version to download? I can send you the license key in private if you wish so. Thanks!
